I am in Kelowna and leaving today for the coast.

From there I drove to Kelowna and stayed with my Brother-in-law, Bob and his wife Hod. They have a lovely house on the west side of the lake but it is a very twisty road to get to Fintry Landing so once there I was glad to stay put at least when it was dark. Hod enjoys fitness and she and I did a big long hike in the mountains. They had a terrible forest fire last summer and were the only ones in their community to stay in their home while the fire was so close. We are both wine makers so have a batch to brew up tomorrow. Brought some fixin's so we can make some more and hopefullly will be able to return next summer to collect some new wine. Or better yet that I might have them come to the cabin since they have never been.
Anyway, I am still trying to eat sensibly while I am on the road but it is certainly hard when everyday is a celebration and we must have wine to celebrate. Life is good. Hope to get my hair done on Monday. Already feeling shaggy.

The Beginning

It has been a fabulous summer in Coal Camp.

I started out with 3 challenges. The 1st was the lack of running water at the cabin and that was easily solved by membership in the local Aquaplex in town. I went to town everyday for water exercising and then had the use of the facilities. What a treat.

My 2nd challenge was to continue on the weight loss program and by exercising everyday and following the food plan managed to loose another 10 pounds. Still have five to go.

My 3rd challenge was to make some new friends in the area. That happened at the pool also. I met some very nice ladies and was part of several activities. I am happy to have these connections.
